How to Calculate Token Profit and Loss in BitTap Spot Trading

When trading on BitTap, understanding how to calculate your token profit and loss is an essential part of your investment strategy. Calculating profit and loss helps you assess the performance of your investment and decide whether to hold or sell your crypto assets. Below are the steps for calculating token profit and loss in spot trading:

1. Determine the Buy Price

The buy price is the price you paid when you first purchased the tokens, including any trading fees. To calculate profit and loss accurately, you need to note:

· Buy Price: The price per unit of the token.

· Trading Fees: BitTap’s trading fees, usually a percentage fee for maker or taker orders.

Formula:
Total Buy Cost = Buy Price × Buy Quantity + Trading Fees

2. Determine the Sell Price

The sell price is the price at which you sell your tokens on the market, also including trading fees. To calculate profit and loss, you need to note:

· Sell Price: The price per unit of the token at which you sold.

· Trading Fees: BitTap’s selling fees.

Formula:
Total Sell Amount = Sell Price × Sell Quantity — Trading Fees

3. Calculate Profit and Loss

To calculate profit and loss, compare the total cost of buying the tokens with the total revenue from selling them. The calculation is as follows:

Profit and Loss Formula:
Profit/Loss = Total Sell Amount — Total Buy Cost

· A positive value indicates profit, meaning you gained from the trade.

· A negative value indicates loss, meaning you lost on the trade.

4. Calculate Percentage Profit and Loss

To better assess your investment return, you can calculate percentage profit and loss using the following formula:

Percentage Profit and Loss Formula:
Percentage Profit/Loss = (Profit/Loss / Total Buy Cost) × 100%

This will show how much your investment has grown or decreased in percentage terms.

Example:

Assume you bought 1 BTC on BitTap at a price of 500 USDT and paid a 0.1% trading fee. Your total buy cost would be: Total Buy Cost = 500 × 1 + 0.001 × 500 = 500.5 USDT

Later, you sell 1 BTC at 550 USDT and pay a 0.1% trading fee. Your total sell amount would be: Total Sell Amount = 550 × 1–0.001 × 550 = 549.45 USDT

Profit and Loss Calculation:
Profit/Loss = 549.45–500.5 = 48.95 USDT

Percentage Profit and Loss:
Percentage Profit/Loss = (48.95 / 500.5) × 100% ≈ 9.78%

Therefore, you made a profit of 48.95 USDT from this trade, with a percentage gain of 9.78%.
